Our quote is our expert opinion and suggestion based on market data. We are your partner and advisor and will work with you within reason of the market to fit your particular needs/desires.

If you are in Atlanta you can make an appointment and we’ll be happy to help. If not in Atlanta, you can ship your diamond at our expense to our office to evaluate for you (we provide a pre-paid, insured shipping label). If you do not accept our opinion of quality or value, you pay shipping back. Or we can recommend an appraiser in your area to help you determine its quality.
Why is your quote less than my appraised value?
Appraised value is for insurance. It’s typically about 20% above the retail value as they are working for you to insure that a claim would yield you an equal or higher quality diamond.
Our value is based on Market Value which is defined as:
Similar to Fair Market Value except that the provisions for lack of compulsion to buy or sell is removed and the assumption of a sale within a specified frame is added. The federally accepted definition of Market Value as stated in the Definition Section of USPAP is as follows: bring in a competitive and open market under all conditions requisite to a fair sale, the buyer and seller, each acting prudently, knowledgeably and assuming the price is not affected by undue stimulus. Implicit in this definition are the consummation of a sale as of a specified date and the passing of title from seller to buyer under conditions whereby:
- Buyer and seller are typically motivated
- Both parties are well informed or well advised, and each acting in what he considers his own best interests
- A reasonable time is allowed for exposure in the open market
- Payment is made in terms of cash in U.S. dollars or in terms of financial arrangements comparable thereto
- The price represents the normal consideration for the property sold unaffected by special or creative financing or sales concessions granted by anyone associated with the sale.
When do I get paid?
Upon sale of your item, you will be paid within seven (7) business days.
How do I get paid?
Payment can be made in the form of a company check or wire transfer.
What if my diamond doesn’t sell?
If your diamond does not sell, we will return it to you within seven (7) business days of the end of the agreement term. No expense to you. We will use our global marketing resources to sell your diamond, but if we fail to do our job, we eat the expenses. You don’t pay a thing.
Don’t diamonds go up in value?
Some do, but at a very slow rate year after year. The diamond market is volatile and subject to many factors such as fashion, trends, supply, demand, mining, and economy. Some shapes in the fancy category (anything other than round) have larger volatility due to the fashion trends on the retail level. Diamonds are not a commodity, and if you purchased at a retail price the only way to recoup that, all other factors being equal, is to sell at retail. However your diamond is now pre-owned and subject to the second hand market.
